Initial Consultation with Physiotherapist

The initial consultation is a crucial part of your rehabilitation journey. The appointment provides an opportunity for the Physiotherapist to complete a holistic assessment and explore how your injury or issue is impacting your daily life. It will also involve a thorough physical examination encompassing many factors including your range of movement and strength. 

 

These findings will then be used to establish a diagnosis, or identify the cause of your pain. A management plan will then be specifically designed to suit your personal needs and requirements, ensuring you have a blueprint to use as part of your pathway to rehabilitation.

Follow-up Appointment

30 minutes      1 hour

Follow-up appointments provides an opportunity to discuss how you have been coping since your previous consultation. During the appointment you will receive a condensed physical assessment to review how your physical rehabilitation is progressing. This will be followed up by treatment to support your recovery. 

 

Recommended treatment options vary depending on your diagnosis. At Prestige Motion we can offer manual therapy, soft tissue massage, electrotherapy, ultrasound, advice & education as well as training and exercise programmes. 

 

Recommended treatment options will be discussed in full with you prior to the treatment being completed, to ensure you are fully informed and happy to proceed. 

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used at as part of an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation and a means of stimulating the body’s own healing chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation. It involves the use of single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles that pierce the skin at specific acupuncture points.

Acupuncture within physiotherapy is implemented in accordance with clinical and research evidence and can be a valuable tool to aid treatment of many musculoskeletal (physiotherapy requiring) conditions. Acupuncture can also be used effectively to help treat some headaches and migraines.

​

Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and therefore 4-6 sessions are usually recommended to gain full effect.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice. Changes made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur the full appointment fee. For clients using private health insurance, this will count as one of your allocated sessions.
